Your first week with Rentrovia
The order to set things up in, so you are not blocked halfway through adding your first booking.
Updated
Rentrovia's records depend on each other. Adding things in the right order saves you from stopping halfway to go and create something else.
This is the order that works.
1. Vehicle categories
Categories group your fleet — Scooter, Sedan, SUV, Bus, whatever fits your business. A vehicle can be saved as uncategorised, but creating useful categories first keeps the fleet tidy.
Keep the list short. Categories are how customers filter your public website, and fifteen near-identical options help nobody.
2. Vehicles
Add your fleet. Each vehicle needs a name, plate number and daily rate to start with. A category is recommended; the remaining details can be filled in later.
See adding a vehicle for what each step asks.
Do not try to add all fifty vehicles before doing anything else. Add three or four, take a booking through end to end, and confirm the whole flow makes sense to you. Then bulk-add the rest.
3. Customers
You can create customers as you go, but if you already have a list, entering the regulars now makes the first bookings faster.
4. Your first booking
Now take a real booking through the whole cycle: create it, confirm it, start the rental, then end it. See how to create a booking.
Doing one complete cycle teaches you more than reading about all of them. It also surfaces anything you have set up wrong while it is still cheap to fix.
5. Then the rest
Once bookings are working, add the pieces that support them:
- Invoices and payments for billing.
- SMS for booking confirmations and reminders.
- Your website, once your fleet is in and worth showing.
- Your team, with the right permissions.
Leave the website until last. It pulls from your fleet, so it looks far better once there are real vehicles behind it.
